A shocking incident at a well-known hotel in the United Kingdom has sparked widespread outrage online after a customer's alleged attempt to scam the restaurant for a free meal was caught on CCTV.
The viral footage, which has been widely shared on social media, appears to show a woman dining with her children when she deliberately plucks a strand of hair from her own head and places it into her child's plate while sitting directly in view of a surveillance camera. The alleged purpose was to falsely accuse the restaurant of serving contaminated food and potentially demand compensation.
Shortly afterward, the woman reportedly called a waiter, created a scene, and demanded that the dish be replaced. Acting professionally, the restaurant staff apologized and promptly served a fresh meal, which the family later took home.
However, restaurant management became suspicious and decided to review the CCTV footage. Upon examining the recordings, they allegedly discovered the woman's actions, exposing the entire scheme.
The investigation reportedly revealed additional misconduct. According to the restaurant, the woman was not only responsible for placing the hair in the food but also allegedly took several items from the premises, including a ketchup bottle, an ice cream bowl, and a teaspoon, concealing them in her bag before leaving.
The restaurant later shared the footage on Facebook and issued a humorous but firm warning to customers, stating that spoons, bowls, and ketchup bottles are not included in their takeaway menu.
